newbie to largo's

Hi all im chris ive just bought a 97 plate 2.0 derval auto.
it has a few tiny problems, it starts 1st time everytime not a problem but when selecting a gear it stalls. If i rev it then put in gear its ok.it will drive not a problem but when coming to a stop it will stall again.

Any ideas?

I did think gearbox oil needing replace
but thought id ask 1st to see if its a common problem.

I think this is a common fault and possible solutions are somewhere in the forum! I'm a petrol owner so not best placed to advise - I do recall something about cleaning out the EGR valve as the first thing to try?
