Newbie getting off to a bad start with Largo life!

How do all just a quick hello to all members.

Have got a 97 Largo 2.5 petrol, owned for a month or so and unfortunately the head gasket has gone! Was overheating so bad it in at the local garage. Unfortunately I don't think they bled it properly and just stick K-seal in for a temp fix.

Unsurprisingly this lasted about 5 mins and the engine has cooked itself. Thing is really love the car and want to source a replacement engine for it. Anyone know what other nissans use the 2.5 petrol or can help source one would be great.

Apologies if I've put this in the wrong section but doing this on my phone as unfortunately my laptop also died today?!

I would be surprised if your head gasket has gone, have you tried topping up the engine part of the system under the driver's seat? There is another radiator type cap, if that it not topped up and bleed then it will over heat in minutes

Hi thanks for the reply. The head is definitely cooked.

Unfortunately it's a highway Star model fitted with the KA24DE engine, which seems rarer than hens teeth. Anyone know what other Nissan engine would fit or interested in buying the car?!

Hi I too have a very similar problem - I have had a 97 highway star for 2 months but the 1700 engine and apparently my head gasket has gone. It certainly won't start! Can't seem to find one for it anywhere.
