Hello from sunny Derbyshire

Hello from sunny Derbyshire happie

Just found this great site whilst searching for a starter motor.

My history is as follows.
I bought 2 petrol Highway stars about 5 years ago from the Jap import auction sales that used to be a Donington Park racetrack,
Paid £2650 each for 2 x 1996 plate models.
Used one for work (with just the 2 fold up seats in back) and sold that 2 years ago for £2500 on Ebay instantly - first viewing.

The better (cleaner) Largo that my wife was using I then used for work (Antique furniture) and also removed the centre seat out of it, again leaving just the 2 folding one's.
The head gasket blew on this a couple of years ago, I stripped it down but cams were poor and oil gummed etc and realised that with purchase of parts, pressure testing old head, possible new head it may be cheaper to change engine.

So I searched and bought a great engine from Heathrow engines for £400 reputed to have done 16,000 kms, it looked like new and after removing the cam cover this week to sort oill leak into plug holes, the cams show no wear at all.

Since engine has been fitted I guess it's covered approx 15k miles and is running great, I like the chain drive and lack of timing belt and will probably run this into the ground but that coulsd take a few years :D
Broke down once due to module in Dizzy going kaput but apart from that no major issues apart from amount of fuel I put in it.

When I look at similar vehicles like Espace, Sharan etc I think I will stick with this brilliant Nissan. cheers

My Drifting mad Skyline mad 14 year old son also loves the Largo, we have slept in it numerous times at motorsport events, transport his pit bike and even collected big V8 engines in it, suits our needs brilliantly with very few issues - getting all sentimental now
