Suspension Squeaking on my Largo Highway Star.

Post by Houli »

Hi my name is Steve Houlahan from Hawkesbay,in NewZealand, and I've just purchased a 1997 Nissan Largo Highway Star. And I noticed that there is a loud squeaking noise coming from the rear suspension area, can anyone tell me what the fiberglass bar is for that spans between the two rear wheels.it seems the squeaking is coming from that area.Thankyou all.

I think it's kinda like a leaf spring which is part of your suspension, perhaps it needs some adjustment/tightening up or lubrication? Could be squeaky shocks too I suppose.

Hi Guys,

have you found where the noise exactly came from ? I actually have the same problem on a Largo Highway star from 98. I used to put w40 around without finding the exact spot. Since 2 days the squeak is really annoying and w40 seems to not work anymore bhw

Fibre glass transverse leaf spring is the normal culprit. It has rubber pads bonded to it which wear out over time
